1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 whole egg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar into butter. Add egg. Add salt, baking powder and flour. After well mixed add vanilla. Chill slightly. Roll and cut into your choice of shapes. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees.

EASY GLAZE:

3/4 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
3-4 tsp. water
Food coloring of your choice

Blend above ingredients together. While cookies are still warm, brush with glaze.
