HARVARD BEETS 
1 can beets, sliced or diced
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. beet water

Mix all ingredients except beets. Cook and stir until clear. Add beets. Simmer a few minutes to heat through. Add a tablespoon of butter. Good hot or cold.
