FAST HOMEMADE BROCCOLI CHEESE
SOUP FOR SUPER BOWL

You can do this from start to finish in just a few minutes, and it tastes TOTALLY homemade! Good enough for company! We serve in a bread bowl!

1 (22 1/2 oz.) can cream of chicken soup (family size)
3 tbsp. grated onion
2 tbsp. butter
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
3 cups milk
1 pkg. fresh or frozen broccoli florets, steamed until very tender

In a large pot, sauté onion in the butter. Over low heat: Add can of soup (undiluted) to pot and stir.

Add cheese and stir until thoroughly melted. Add milk and whisk until smooth. Add the broccoli and stir. Simmer until bubbly.

This is also even better using a package of mixed broccoli and cauliflower, steamed.

You may add two packages of broccoli if you like it really broccoli-y. I just buy the plastic bag of Mann's broccoli, poke a hole in it, and microwave the bag for 6 minutes to steam it perfectly! Then just dump it in!

After sautéing the onion, you can put all the ingredients into a Crock-Pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until bubbly.

I used your recipe but I added a few chopped baby carrots, and it was amazing! I am always skeptical of eating my own cooking but this was a great recipe! I was craving Broccoli Cheese soup, and didnt feel like going to go get the mediocre Quick Chek soup! Yours is much better!

Very very very delicious! I normally hate cheesy soups but made this for my hubby and son and we ALL loved it! Especially with some bakery bread on the side :) I also add cooked chopped up chicken for added protein and it was perfect! Thank you for sharing :)

I was home sick with a cold and ran across this recipe. I made it for lunch and it was FANTASTIC! It was so quick. I added 2 potatoes diced up also. This will definitely be making its way on to my regular menu for my family. Yum!

This soup is excellent, and SO easy to make. We make it all the time. It is also great to add other things to it; we have added: bacon, grilled chicken, potatoes, or the broccoli/cauliflower/carrot veggie mix. So many great options!

GREAT RECIPE! I didn't change a thing and all 3 of the picky eaters in my family LOVED it. In fact, I'm making it again tonight. We enjoyed it with bakery bread that I toasted with butter in the oven. My 5 year old dipped it in his soup and loved it. I'm going to add boneless skinless checkin tenders that I slow-roasted in the oven for extra protein when I make it tonight. You CANNOT go wrong when making this. I's delicous and very flavorful no matter what :) Thank you!

Instead of a family size can of cream of chicken soup, I accidentally bought regular size. I ended up adding a can of cream of broccoli just to make sure it was creamy enough and it was great!

Scanning recipes because I forgot to write down ingredients for a fantastic broccoli-cheese soup I made with canned nacho cheese sauce (try jalapeno style for extra zip), any odds and ends of sour cream, cream cheese, anything that melts, and bacon bits. Anything goes! $.99 stores are a great inexpensive source for the cheese sauce. Might want pickled jalapenos if you can't find combo sauce too (great for chili). First time my son-in-law complimented my cooking.

I am pregnant and had the biggest craving for broccoli and cheese soup. The only place that sold it only had can in a cup size and when eating for two I need way more than that! I found this recipe and not only was it quick and easy it is delicious! I will definitely be making this again and again :)
