1 EGG CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 3/4 cup milk
1/2 c. cocoa
2 1/4 c. flour
Pinch of salt
1 c. boiling water

Cream shortening and sugar, add milk, vanilla, cocoa and dry ingredients. Be sure to add boiling water last. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 to 20 minute in layer pans or 25 minutes in loaf pan.

FUDGE ICING:

1 c. sugar
1 oz. baking chocolate
1/3 c. canned milk
1/4 c. butter

Bring to a rolling boil and then cook one minute. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until cool enough to spread. Enough for a loaf cake.
