QUICK AND EASY BROWN BREAD | |
2 c. dark brown sugar 1 qt. buttermilk 1 1/3 c. flour 4 c. whole wheat flour 4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. raisins Stir brown sugar and buttermilk together until sugar is dissolved. Combine flours, soda and salt. Mix together well and stir into liquid mixture. Stir only until ingredients are well blended. Stir in raisins and pour into 2 buttered loaf pans that have been sugared. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until bread tests done. Serve with honey butter. Honey Butter: 1 cup butter and 1/2 cup honey, whipped. |
