SWEET AND SOUR MEATLOAF 
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1 egg
1 sm. onion, minced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. crushed crackers or bread crumbs
2 lbs. ground round or sirloin
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix tomato sauce with sugar, vinegar, and mustard until sugar is dissolved. Put aside. Beat egg slightly; add onion, beef, crackers or crumbs, salt, pepper and 1/2 cup tomato sauce mixture.

Combine lightly but thoroughly. Shape into loaf. Turn into shallow baking dish and pour rest of tomato sauce mixture over loaf. Baste occasionally while baking in 400 degree oven for about 1 hour. Serves 8.

I make a double batch of sauce and serve it with the meatloaf. The sauce makes the meatloaf. Delicious!
