DOUBLE BOILER BREAD PUDDING | |
1 c. light brown sugar 3 slices bread (buttered on both sides) 3 eggs 2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Speck of salt & cinnamon & sugar Some raisins or dates Put light brown sugar in top of double boiler. Cut buttered bread in 1 inch cubes. Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and salt together. Put bread cubes on top of sugar, then pour milk mixture over all cubes. Try to get liquid over all the cubes. (Do not stir.) Add a little cinnamon and salt over the top. Place raisins or dates here and there on the top. Cover tightly and cook over hot water, about 1 1/4 hours. |
