ELOISE BARLEY'S FRUIT COOKIES 
2 lbs. dates
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1 lb. nuts (pecans)
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Add egg and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add 1/4 cup of flour to chopped fruits and nuts. Add vanilla to creamed mixture. Add flour and mix well. Add fruit and nuts. Batter will be stiff. Drop by small teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
