DUTCH CHOCOLATE BARS 
1 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, soft
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 c. oatmeal

Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder into mixing bowl. Add butter, eggs, cooled chocolate and vanilla, mix until smooth. Stir in oatmeal. Spread into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Cool, frost with "Peppermint Butter Frosting". Cut into bars. Makes about 5 dozen.

PEPPERMINT BUTTER FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter, soft
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. peppermint extract
Few drops green food coloring
3 tbsp. cream (milk works)

Blend butter, sugar, extract and food coloring, add enough cream (or milk) to make the frosting of spreading consistency, beat well. Spread on cooled bars.
