BEST CLAM CHOWDER 
5-6 c. peeled, diced potatoes
1 c. diced celery
1 c. diced onions
1 c. diced carrots
4 cans drained clams (save juice)
Add 6 c. water and clam juice

Cook until tender.

WHITE SAUCE:

While waiting make white sauce.

1/2 cubes butter
1 c. flour
6 c. milk

Cook until thickened. Add to vegetable mix and clams - simmer and serve.
