STRAWBERRY ICE BOX DESSERT 
2 1/2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
1 stick butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 carton Cool Whip
1 qt. strawberries, sweetened to taste (fresh or frozen, slightly thawed)
1/3 c. pecans, chopped
Maraschino cherries (optional)

Spread 1 1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs in a large glass serving dish. Beat the butter and powdered sugar to a fluffy consistency and spread over crumbs. Spread mixture to the sides of the dish and seal.

Pour sweetened strawberries over the mixture. Cover with remaining wafer crumbs. Spread whipped topping over crumbs. Sprinkle with pecans. Decorate with cherries if desired. Refrigerate. (Serves 10- 12)
