MILE-HIGH AWESOME APPLE PIE 
CRUST:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. corn oil
1/4 c. milk

APPLE FILLING:

12 apples
2/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Dash salt
Dash vanilla
Lemon juice
Dot with butter

Mix crust ingredients in order given. Form dough into a ball. Shape and place between two sheets of wax paper. Roll dough out to make bottom crust in 9 x 1 1/2 inch pie plate. Fill with apples and sprinkle lemon juice over apples. Next cover apples evenly with the sugar mixture.

Dot apples with butter and repeat the crust recipe to make second crust. Mark the pie with an "A" to vent. Place in a 450 degree oven for 10 minutes, lower heat to 350 degrees and bake for 50-60 additional minutes. I suggest you use a sheet of tin foil on the oven rack below the pie to catch any spills.
