BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1/4 c. butter, butter or oil
1 c. light brown sugar, packed
1 egg
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Melt butter. Mix oil, butter with sugar until blended. Cool. Stir in egg. Mix dry ingredients (flour, salt and baking powder) together, then blend into liquid mixture. Mix in vanilla and walnuts.

Spread in well greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not over bake! Cut into bars while warm.
