CHOCOLATE TOFFEE BARS | |
1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 2 c. flour, sifted 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg, well beaten 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Hershey milk chocolate 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Cream butter (at room temperature) and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, well beaten egg and flour sifted with salt. Stir and mix well. Spread on greased oblong shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 25 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven, cover with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut at once into bars. Melt chocolate in double boiler while cookies are baking. Keep at low temperature. Just be sure chocolate is soft and spreadable. |
