1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts (optional)

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together. Add flour; mix well. Stir in chips and nuts. Press into ungreased jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and remove from pan. (This is one that kids love to make.)
