BAKED MACARONI AND CHEESE | |
2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. Wondra instant flour 1 cup milk 8 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated 8 oz. macaroni Bread crumbs Paprika Preheat oven to 350°F. In a double boiler or in microwave, melt butter; stir in Wondra flour. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly to form a medium white sauce. (You can substitute all purpose flour but if you don't sift it in gradually through a fine mesh, you may get lumps.) Stir in grated cheddar cheese until sauce is smooth. Meanwhile, cook macaroni as directed on package. Butter a 2-quart baking dish. Transfer cooked, drained macaroni to dish. Pour cheese sauce evenly on top. Stir. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, dot with butter and sprinkle lightly with paprika. Bake for 30 minutes in preheated oven. Submitted by: Belle |
