ICE CREAM DESSERT 
1 box vanilla wafers
2 sticks butter
3 sq. chocolate
4 eggs, separated
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Roll vanilla wafers fine and mix well with 1 stick of melted butter. Reserve 1 cup of crumbs for top and press the rest in 9x13 pan.

Filling: Melt in double boiler 1 stick butter, 3 squares chocolate. When melted add pecans, 4 beaten egg yolks and 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar. Remove from heat and when cool fold in 4 stiffly beaten egg whites. Put filling over crumbs in pan. Chill until firm. Spread ice cream (softened) over filling. Put remainder of crumbs on top and freeze.
