Those of you giving this recipe 3 or 4 stars can't be following this recipe to a T. I have measured being greedy is out precisely 3 * in a row. Every single time even up to and beyond 12 minutes eat cookies never cook in the middle. They are always very gooey. in order for this recipe to work properly you must cook the cookies for closer to 14 or 15 minutes. I have made Certain every time that the oven was preheated to 350°F as well. And for the record these were tried in both Atlanta and New Hampshire. So altitude variable was not an issue.

This is the recipe I have used for years. I make peanut butter blossoms from it. My family loves them. They don't even care to eat the blossoms made from the original blossom recipe.

These are awesome cookies - even better than the home-made sugar sifting, brown sugar, vanilla, etc. etc. dipping fork in sugar to make the criss cross makes it look just as fancy. Easy clean up too! try this recipe and you'll be amazed... we were :)

The first time I made these cookies they turned out bad but that was because my oven got too hot too quickly. This time I made them and made sure to check them more frequently to make sure they didn't get overdone and the came out GREAT!! This will definitely be a recipe I keep on hand. :)
