2 c. sugar 1 c. butter 4 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 c. nuts meats, chopped 1/2 c. raisins 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. mace 1 tsp. baking soda Cream sugar, butter, add eggs one at a time. Add soda, buttermilk, and flour. Mix well, then take out 2 layers of your batter (1/2 of the mixture) then add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon allspice, 1/2 teaspoon cloves, 1/2 teaspoon mace, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup nuts, and fill two more pans. ICING: 2 boxes or cans coconut 1 1/2 c. hot water 2 lemons, grated rind and juice 2 tbsp. flour 2 1/2 c. sugar Cook until begins to thicken, about 5 minutes. Spread between layers. |
