STRAWBERRY LUSH 
1 box vanilla wafers
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. powdered sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 pt. strawberries, sliced
1/2 to 1 tsp. cornstarch
1 pt. whipping cream or Cool Whip

Crush vanilla wafers. Put half in a 9 x 13 pan. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg yolks to butter mixture. Mix until smooth. Beat egg whites to stiff peaks. Fold into butter mixture. Spread on wafers carefully. Set aside or refrigerate. Sweeten strawberries to taste. Bring to a boil in saucepan. Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cornstarch to 1 teaspoon water. Add to strawberries until thick. Cool completely. Pour strawberries over butter mixture. Top with 1 pint whipped cream. Add rest of vanilla wafers on top. Refrigerate until set.
