MARION'S APPLESAUCE CAKE 
CAKE:

1 1/4 c. canned sweetened applesauce
3/4 c. quick or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves

Heat applesauce; add oats and raisins; cover and let set 20 minutes. Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and egg; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves; gradually add to batter. Add applesauce with oats and raisins; combine thoroughly.

Pour batter into greased and floured 9-inch square baking pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack.

ICING:

2 tbsp. butter
Dash of salt
1/4 c. milk
2 1/4 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat butter and salt until light and fluffy. Add milk. Gradually add confectioners sugar. Stir in vanilla. Frost top of cake.
