2 c. brown sugar 1 c. cholesterol free butter 2 egg whites 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. hot water 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. to 1 c. chopped nuts 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour Cream sugar and butter, add egg whites and beat mixture well. Add soda dissolved in hot water, add vanilla, add nuts and stir in flour. Chill dough until firm enough to shape into 2 inch rolls. Wrap rolls in foil and freeze. Bake in 400 degree oven. Slice rolls into thin slices. Place on unoiled cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden tan. Remove while hot, cool and store. Wrapped rolls may be stored frozen for several weeks. |
