CORN ON THE COB MICROWAVED
Pluck fresh ears of corn from the garden. Cut tassels off, but do not remove shucks. Place ears with shucks on them in the microwave, and cook on high for approximately 2 minutes each ear (time may vary according to size of ears). Remove shucks and silks and serve.

NOTE: Corn can be frozen in the shucks and then microwaved as above. It takes longer to cook, of course, when corn is frozen. Do not thaw before placing in microwave!

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

Corn on the Cob Microwaved

Don't cut off the bottom of the corn cob. When you have cooked the ear, peel down the husk over the end and then you can use it to hold onto the ear. Husk cools quickly and allows you to hold the ear while it is still hot

Great way to do corn. If you cut bottom end of corn off & hold with oven mitt you can shake off husk and silk.

It is SILK on the ears. TASSELS are what you see in the field on top of the corn stalk. They are not on the ears.

Thanks for posting, worked great and I cut the TASSELS off, some people have nothing better to do.

The correct term is silk, not tassels. Tassels are the flowers that form on the corn plant, before the corn ear develops... then, the ears of corn develop corn silk.

Worked great! I gave 2 ears of corn an extra minute for a total of 5. Full of flavor, cooked amazingly. Will definitely do this in the future! No more boiling corn that's time consuming, and I swear it has less flavor than microwaving

Great way to cook corn quickly!! 2 minute results in crispy corn, 2.5 min for well done. Came out delicious!
