ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 c. butter or (2 sticks)
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in buttermilk
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 box dates, chopped
1 can coconut
2 c. chopped nuts
1 lb. orange sliced candy chopped

Cream sugar and butter, add eggs one at a time. Add flour alternately with milk. Roll candy, nuts and dates in extra flour. Add coconut and other ingredients to batter. Cook in tube pan at 250 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.

SAUCE:

Mix 1 cup fresh orange juice and 2 cups confectioners' sugar thoroughly and pour over cake as soon as you take it from oven. Let set overnight or for several hours until it gets cold.
