SAND TARTS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg white
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nutmeats (optional)

Cream butter, add sugar gradually to blend well. Mi the eggs into the butter- sugar and then slowly add the flour and baking powder.

Chill the dough for one hour or overnight if desired. Place dough on floured board, roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters.
