2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. hot milk
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 well beaten eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Add butter to hot milk; set aside. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl; beat with high speed until thick. Blend in dry ingredients, then hot milk mixture. Turn into 9 x 9 inch pan, greased and floured on bottom. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

TOPPING:

3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut
2 tbsp. cream

Spread on cake. Slip under broiler until bubbles.
