CHOCOLATE CHIP MERINGUE BARS | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 c. flour 3 egg yolks 3 tbsp. water 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 pkg. chocolate chips 3 egg whites 1 1/2 c. brown sugar Cream sugar, butter; add egg yolks, vanilla and water. Stir together dry ingredients, add to mixture. Spread thin on 12 x 18 inch ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Beat egg whites until foamy, then add 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (1/4 at a time). Beat until stiff. Spread over chocolate chips. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool, cut into bars. |
