1/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 beaten eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. milk
1 tsp. baking soda
Grated rind of 1 orange
1 pkg. dates, cut dates and cover with 1/2 c. hot water
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and butter, then add other ingredients, beat well. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 35 minutes in 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan.

Topping: Mix juice of 1 orange with 1 cup powdered sugar, pour over hot cake. I punched holes in cake first.
