SANDERS BUTTERCREAM FROSTING 
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 lb. butter (1 stick)
1 c. granulated sugar
2/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Warmed, but not scalded, do not over heat, just take chill off.

Cream Crisco and butter together. Add sugar (mix well so as not to be gritty); beat well. Gradually add warmed milk and continue beating, add flavoring.

This is the one we used when I was growing up and it takes patience at the stove scalding the milk but it's very good... try this one first before the other ones... although similar this one is easier...

You might have already guessed that a stick of butter equals a half cup, so a half cup of butter is what I used in my recipe, and this recipe is PRETTY DARN CLOSE to what I remember SANDERS BUTTERCREAM FROSTING tasting like! If you want a frosting that is rich, but not too sweet, this is the one for you! I will make this again!
