SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE 
2 (16 oz.) cans sweet potatoes in heavy syrup (drained)
1 (20 oz.) can unsweetened apples
1/2 c. dark seedless raisins
1/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1/2 c. maple syrup or brown sugar syrup
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ginger

Cut potatoes in 1/4-inch slices. Layer in a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole with apple slices, raisins, and walnuts. Combine syrup, butter, orange peel, salt, cinnamon, and ginger.

Heat until butter melts and mixture is well-blended. Pour over layered mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour; baste occasionally.
