CHEESE SQUARES | |
2 pkgs. (8 oz. each) Philadelphia cream cheese 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg yolk (reserve white for glaze) 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 pkgs. Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (one should be at room temp.) 1. Spread package of room temperature rolls into greased 9x13 pan. 2. Mix cheese, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread mixture over rolls. 3. Roll second package of rolls between two sheets of wax paper to fit over top of mixture. Place over cheese layer. 4. Brush beaten egg white over top of rolls. 5. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. 6. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into squares. (An old Prairie School favorite!) |
