CAT'S TONGUES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sifted flour
Vanilla or almond extract
1/2 c. sugar
2 egg whites

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in flour. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Flavor with a few drops of extract. Pour batter into greased baking pan. If desired sprinkle with granulated or powdered sugar or chopped almonds. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until brown. Cut into strips 4 x 1 inch.
