9-DAY COLE SLAW | |
DRESSING: 1 c. vinegar 1/2 c. vegetable oil 2 tsp. celery seed 2 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt VEGETABLES: 3 lbs. shredded cabbage 1 c. onions, finely chopped 1/2 c. green pepper, finely chopped 1/2 c. red pepper, finely chopped 2 c. sugar Combine dressing ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil, cool, set aside. Combine cabbage, onion, peppers and sugar. Let stand until sugar dissolves. Pour cooled dressing over cabbage mixture, refrigerate. Keeps well under refrigeration for at least 9 days. I sometimes cut ingredients in half and drain some of juice before serving. Have also purchased bag of shredded cabbage. |
