NINE DAY COLESLAW | |
3 lb. head of cabbage, thinly shredded 1 med. green pepper, finely chopped 2 med. onions, finely chopped 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar 1 c. salad oil 1 c. cider vinegar 1 tbsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. salt Stir together the cabbage, onion, green pepper and 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil the salad oil, vinegar, celery seed and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Immediately pour this hot mixture over the cabbage mix. Chill overnight before serving. Keep stored in the refrigerator. Makes about 2 1/2 quarts. |
