HOT SPICED CIDER 
Delicious with hot doughnuts, late-at-night sandwiches, or a plate of hearty cookies.

2 qts. apple cider
2 tbsp. light brown sugar
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 tsp. whole allspice
2 sticks cinnamon
Few grains salt

Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Bring to boiling; reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 minutes. Strain; serve immediately.

If desired, float a slice of lemon or orange studded with cloves on each serving.

6 to 8 servings.
