A VEGGIE "CASSIE" 
1 squash, sliced thin
1 purple top turnip, sliced thin
1 yam, sliced thin
1 med. onion, sliced thin
1 Irish potato, sliced thin
3 tbsp. bacon drippings
Dash of salt and pepper
1/2 c. water
Buttered bread crumbs

Pour bacon drippings in bottom of casserole. Layer all vegetables over drippings. Add water, salt and pepper. Sprinkle bread crumbs over top. Bake at 350 degrees until vegetables are tender.
