MA MA'S BREAD PUDDING 
2 qts. dry bread crumbs
1 c. raisins
4 c. scalded milk
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine crumbs and raisins in a greased pan. Add cool scalded milk to eggs, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Beat well. Pour over bread and raisins. Bake 350 for 1 hour.

VANILLA SAUCE:

1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. light brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. water

Combine sugars and cornstarch in small saucepan. Gradually add water. Mix well. Over medium heat, cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat. Continue cooking and stirring 3-4 minutes or until thick and clear. Stir in vanilla and butter. Serve warm over bread pudding.
