MA MA'S CHICKEN AND CORNMEAL
GRAVY (CARRIE BRISTER)
 
1 (2 to 2 1/2 lb.) frying chicken, cut up
Shortening
1 c. flour
1 egg
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. cornmeal

Salt and pepper chicken, flour, melt shortening and fry chicken until tender. Drain off shortening, add enough water to cover chicken. Let cook while you mix eggs, milk and cornmeal. Pour mixture in chicken and water and let cook a few minutes. Delicious with hot biscuits.
