CARAMEL NUT POUND CAKE | |
1/2 lb. butter 1/2 c. shortening 1 box light brown sugar 1 c. granulated sugar 5 lg. eggs 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sweet milk (or evaporated milk) 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar, a little at a time. Beat well; add granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Beat 3 minutes. Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. |
