FRENCH BREAKFAST PUFFS 
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. butter, melted

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15 muffin cups, 2 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches. Mix shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and the egg. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with milk. Fill muffin cups about 2/3 full. Bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Immediately after baking, roll puffs in melted butter, then in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Makes 15 puffs.

If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.
