SOUR DOUGH BREAD | |
1/4 c. sugar (optional) 1/4 c. oil 1 tsp. salt 1 c. starter 1 1/2 c. warm water 6 c. Pillsbury bread flour, plain After mixing, oil large bowl, put dough in it, turn dough over to boil both sides. Cover lightly with oil. Cover with foil and let stand overnight (DO NOT REFRIGERATE). Punch dough down, knead only 3 or 4 times NO MORE! Divide into 3 equal parts. Knead 8 to 10 times on floured board. Put in buttered loaf pans. Brush with oil. Let rise 4 or 5 hours (all day, if desired). Cover lightly with waxed oiled paper, while rising. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Brush with butter. Let cool before turning out of pans. STARTER: 3/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp. instant potatoes 1 c. warm water |
