WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. red food color (two 1 oz. bottles)
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream Crisco and sugar together. Add vanilla and coloring and mix. Add eggs one at a time and cream well. Sift and measure flour with cocoa and sift 3 times. Add to the above mixture alternately with buttermilk and last fold in soda mixed with vinegar. Bake in 2 (9 inch) pans at 350 degrees approximately 30 minutes.

ICING:

1/4 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 can coconut

Cook flour and milk together to pudding stage and set aside to cool. Cream butter and Crisco. Add sugar and cream well. Add cooled mixture and beat until fluffy. Will look like whipped cream. Add coconut
