c. plain or cake flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
Dash salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. oil
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. boiling water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour pan. Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and baking powder together in large mixing bowl. Dissolve soda in boiling water. Add to dry ingredients SLOWLY. Beat into mixture eggs and cooking oil. Beat well. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 50 minutes. Top with cream cheese icing or whipped cream and cherries.
