FANNY FARMER FUDGE 
2 c. granulated sugar
1 (5 oz.) can Carnation evaporated milk
5 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Put sugar and milk in a heavy pan. Stir constantly until it comes to a boil. Gently boil for 6 minutes (stirring constantly). Remove from heat; add butter, vanilla, nuts and chocolate chips. Stir until chips are melted and fudge is ready to pour into a buttered 8x8 pan.
