QUICK SPANISH RICE 
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 c. chopped onion
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 sm. bay leaf
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 c. uncooked instant rice
Dash of pepper
Dash of garlic powder
Dash of ground thyme
Dash of oregano
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
2-3 slices cheese, cubed

Brown meat and onions. Add spices, soup, tomatoes, and rice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Stir often until rice fluffs. Pour into casserole dish and top with cheese. Broil or pud lid on until cheese melts. Serves 6-8.
