GRANDMA POLLY'S SEVEN LAYERED
SALAD
 
1 head lettuce, shredded
3/4 cup finely chopped celery
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 (10 oz.) box frozen peas
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 lb. bacon (8 strips)
1/2 to 1 cup Parmesan cheese

DRESSING:

4 cups Miracle Whip
5 tbsp. light brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
add enough milk to make spreadable

Thaw peas in hot water, then chill in cold water and drain. Fry bacon until crisp, drain and crumble.

Mix together lettuce, celery, pepper and onions. Place in 9x13-inch pan. Next spread peas on top of lettuce mix.

Mix brown sugar into Miracle Whip and spread evenly over peas. Next spread shredded cheddar cheese over Miracle Whip dressing mix.

Evenly spread crumbled bacon and top with Parmesan cheese. Cover pan with Saran or plastic wrap.

Chill in refrigerator a minimum of 12 hours before serving.
