MOM'S CHOCOLATE HYDROX DESSERT 
2 env. Knox gelatin
1/2 c. cold water
1/2 c. boiling water
6 egg whites
2/3 c. sugar
1 pt. whipped cream
1 tsp. vanilla
25 Hydrox cookies (Oreo's)

Crush 25 Hydrox cookies (Oreo's). Reserve 1/2 of mixture and pat other 1/2 into 9 x 13 inch pan for crust.

For filling, soften 2 envelopes Knox gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup boiling water. Beat (in separate bowl) 6 egg whites until stiff and add 2/3 cup sugar, 1 pint whipped cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add both parts to gelatin mixture and mix well. Pour on top of crushed Oreo's. Chill until set, and sprinkle other 1/2 of crushed cookies on top. Chill several hours. Cut and serve.
