2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 unbeaten egg
3 c. peeled diced tart apples
1/2 c. nuts, walnuts or pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Cream 2 tablespoons butter with the 3/4 cup sugar. Peel and dice the 3 cups of tart apples. Combine the flour, soda, salt, and nutmeg; mix well.

Now combine and mix the flour, soda, salt and nutmeg to the creamed butter and sugar mixture. Add the diced apples, vanilla, unbeaten egg and nuts and mix all together. Bake 40 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 8.
