2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. melted shortening
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of soda and salt

In large bowl, sift full of flour. Make a hole in flour; mix in all ingredients. Mix well. Pinch off small pieces and pat into a greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees until brown.
