PAT'S FAVORITE TEA CAKES 
4 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
5 c. sifted flour

Add soda to sugar; stir in eggs. Add slightly cooled shortening and mix well. Add flavoring and nutmeg. Stir in flour. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Yield: 6 dozen.
